logging is a fine art
The heavy single skeg boards of yesteryear like hand mowers remind us vividly our ancestors were real men not like the woosy mascara wearing all blacks of today .!!
Put a log in the water on an overhead day and you better be using your head or you will be getting some rough teaching.
These are heavy and buoyant boards and after a time riding them the appreciation of the skill and dedication it must have taken to paddle out daily on one of these 'dunga's' is really felt.
this is my old 1963? dunlop and at 9'9" she's a 'HQ holden' of a board that needs a minutes notice to turn and three to stop.
She tried many a time to maim me on my 'uncoordinated' days.
such a compassionate teacher ,
still i had to sell her.
sad but i will remember the lessons .
thats what matters.
